Parker Coin and Bullion
What they needed
The brief
An independent coin and bullion shop whose customers arrive with a question nobody else was answering: what is this actually worth, and will I be treated fairly.
The first version of the site was built as a JavaScript application, which looked right in a browser and was close to invisible to anything that does not run JavaScript. That includes a good share of the crawlers that matter.
What we built
The build
A build step that renders the finished page to plain HTML, so a crawler sees the whole site while a visitor still gets the interactive version. This is the fix most JavaScript sites need and almost none have.
A melt value calculator that answers the customer's actual question on the page, using live metal prices, rather than making them phone to find out.
An owner-editable backend so the shop can change its own content, hours and listings without calling anyone.
A set of pages for what people search before they visit: selling gold, selling silver, buying bullion, settling an estate, and the questions that come up at the counter.
