Common questions

Questions

What does a website from 40Second cost?

It depends on how many pages the business actually needs and whether anything has to be built behind them. A single-page site for one service and a shop with eight services and two locations are different jobs. We scope it, quote a fixed price in writing, and that is the price.

How long does a site take?

A straightforward site is usually a few weeks from the first conversation. The variable is rarely the building; it is how quickly photographs, copy decisions and business facts come back from the client.

Do you work with businesses outside Denver?

Yes. Most projects run remotely with a conversation at the start and screen shares as the work takes shape. We work across Colorado and are happy to work further afield.

Do I own the site?

Yes, outright. It is plain HTML and CSS with no licence that expires. If you ever move away from us, the site moves with you.

Can I edit it myself?

If you need to, we build that in. Several of our clients edit their own content, hours and listings through a small admin screen made for the way they actually work. If you would rather not, care and changes covers it.

Will you work on a site someone else built?

Often. Performance work, search work and AI visibility work all apply to an existing site. A full rebuild is only worth it when the current site is fighting you.

More questions

Can you guarantee I will rank first on Google?

No, and nobody can. Search positions are not for sale and anyone promising one is either guessing or selling something else. What we can promise is the work: the pages exist, they answer the question, they are connected, and the business facts are readable by a machine.

Can you get my business into AI assistant answers?

We can make your business readable and accurate to an assistant, which is the part under anyone's control. There is no submission form for AI answers and no paid placement, so treat any promise of a spot as a warning sign.

Do you host, or do I need separate hosting?

We host the sites we build, on infrastructure we manage. Certificates, backups and security configuration are part of it rather than four separate bills.

What happens if the site goes down?

You call us, and it is one call rather than working out whether the problem is the host, the domain or a plugin. Backups mean a bad change is minutes to undo.

Do you use WordPress or a page builder?

No. Builders ship a large amount of code the page never uses, which is what makes most small-business sites slow, and they tend to hold your content inside their platform. Everything here is hand built.

How do we start?

Tell us what you are building, through the contact page. We will come back with questions, then a scope and a fixed price before any work begins.
